Seong Hui Xuan is an award-winning actor, singer, dancer and choreographer based in Singapore. She has been featured extensively in publications such as the Straits Times, Business Times, Time Out Magazine, Esquire and The New York Times, and in 2015 was named as one of Straits Times’ 30 rising stars under 30.

Hui Xuan holds a BA(First-Class Hons.) in Musical Theatre and was nominated for a Life Theatre Award for her role as Izzy in Rabbit Hole, and won for her role as April in Company, and for Best Ensemble for Urinetown. She has worked with all of Singapore’s top theatre companies including The Theatre Practice, Wild Rice, Dream Academy, Pangdemonium, Theatreworks, Checkpoint Theatre, and Singapore Repertory Theatre.

She currently choreographs and teaches at Lasalle and Sing’theatre Academy, and has also been invited to teach musical theatre internationally in Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea. She has also performed internationally in festivals such as the Georgetown Festival (2014) and the Commonwealth Games Festival (2018).

Hui Xuan’s musical theatre performance credits include: Urinetown, Rent, Spring Awakening, and The Full Monty (Pangdemonium); Company, Great World Cabaret, and Into the Woods (Dream Academy); The Emperor’s New Clothes and La Cage aux Folles (Wild Rice); Tropicana the Musical (Spare Room Productions); Songs for a New World (Theatre Lab Productions). Other theatre credits include: Rabbit Hole, Gruesome Playground Injuries (Pangdemonium), Twelfth Night, Rising Son (SRT), 2 Houses (GTF), and The Last Bull: A Life in Flamenco (Checkpoint).

Her choreography credits include: The Amazing Celestial Race (Wild Rice), Liao Zhai Rocks (2019) and Lao Jiu: The Musical (2017) (The Theatre Practice), Chicken Little (SRT), Forever Young (Sing’theatre); associate choreographer: Forbidden City (2017), The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Little Red Riding Hood (SRT); assistant choreographer: Rent (Pangdemonium) and The LKY Musical (Metropolitan).
